Emilia, what I appreciate here is how “repair” isn’t framed as optimization or self-improvement, but as attention. Not fixing the system, just staying in relationship with it, with work, with energy, with limits. That feels increasingly rare in creative cultures that mistake endurance for commitment.

You should go to the apron museum! I haven’t been but I used to live in Mississippi in a town of about 3,000- the largest in the county. Within 2 blocks of my house were 1. A scarlet fever museum 2. Ida B. Wells Barnett’s former home 3. Graceland 2 (unofficial). MS has some really neat artisan projects as well, if you’re not familiar with the Tutwiler Quilters, their work is really inspiring (although quite a drive from Iuka!) https://deltamagazine.com/tutwiler-quilters/
