I spent the last day of New York Fashion Week, which also happened to be Valentine’s Day, in the best way possible: Laughing my butt off at Norma Kamali’s studio, where the designer hosted a comedy show because she just felt like the girls could use a good lol. For the occasion, she wore a silver reflective sweatsuit of her own design and heeled Balenciaga Crocs. Hero!
My outfits can’t even compare, but below is a list of what I wore all week — including track pants on Valentine’s Day — and what I would wear from the runways if I could.
What I Wore
In the below slideshow, you will find: The Max Mara coat that Becky Malinsky influenced me to buy, the Sandy Liang dress I told you about earlier this month that I obviously bought, an Edie Parker lighter clutch (great party trick) that I was gifted, a Going Out Top by Christopher Esber that I found on The RealReal ages ago and have been waiting for the right occasion to wear, lots of Kallmeyer, a vintage Armani tote that is the opposite of flaccid, my Arc Objects ring, and those Adidas track pants I can’t take off (that are already falling apart, which is unfortunate).
What I Would Wear
I already told you about Colleen Allen’s fleece jacket and skirt set, which was apparently everybody’s favorite. How should we coordinate this? Like should we start a group chat to make sure we all don’t wear it at the same time, or…?
This red dress was my favorite Kallmeyer piece! I want to wear it to a winter wedding. (Please invite me to your winter wedding.)
I love Diotima’s textures and how they’re not too delicate to dance around in.
Plenty of compelling looks from Altuzarra and stylist Gabriella Karefa-Johnson. I’m particularly into these Princess Diana pants.
This Fforme coat is like the outerwear equivalent of a butter knife.
I like the *idea* of a Tory Burch dress shaped like a lampshade, I’m just not entirely sure how it would work…
A Thom Browne tuxedo skirt seems like a thing I need, yes.
I also wish I had these waterproof boots during the snow day. (And every day.)
I talked to Liana about how a leopard print coat needs to have an interesting shape to be interesting; it can’t just be leopard print. I think this Norma Kamali one checks all the boxes.
Also, a sleeping bag coat with a hood??? Sign me the heck up.
What I’d Actually Look Like
NEXT TIME: I’m getting lunch at the Odeon with someone fabulous.
